As a professional groomers we highly recommend bringing your dog to the groomer on a monthly basis. Our services go beyond simply bathing and cutting your dog’s hair when it’s long or tangled. Even dogs with short coats benefit from regular baths, deshedding, nail trimming, and teeth cleaning. Moreover, we have the expertise to detect issues that owners may not notice.
Regular visits to the groomer contribute to your dog’s overall happiness, as they become more accustomed to the grooming process and feel safer and more settled in our groom room. For longer and curly coated dogs, we ensure that any knots or tangles are carefully brushed out, preventing discomfort that can cause a dog to feel nervous about the grooming process. Regular sessions give us time to work with your dog to overcome any anxieties.
By seeing your dog regularly, we can accurately estimate the time needed for grooming and maintain consistent prices. As groomers, we become familiar with your dog and are able to spot changes in their coat, skin, and general health, which can be indicative of underlying health issues.
The grooming process, when done regularly and coupled with good home care from you as the owner, is much gentler and more beneficial for all dogs. Some clients bring their dogs biweekly and prefer to do little home maintenance. We take our clients in with the understanding a reguar schedule will be needed. We do not like a dog to have to wait when in need for a groom so advanced bookings are essential
Our comprehensive grooming service includes a range of essential treatments to ensure your dog looks and feels their best. We prioritise the well-being of your pet and will always inform you if we believe certain procedures, such as teeth cleaning or anal gland expression, are best handled by a veterinarian.
To enhance your dog’s coat and overall appearance, we carefully select two shampoos tailored to their specific coat type. Additionally, we apply a conditioner to improve texture and impart a healthy shine. At our salon, we utilise a state-of-the-art hydrobath system, which not only yields superior results but also provides a soothing massage that promotes circulation—a favourite among most dogs.
Following the bath, we meticulously dry your dog’s coat, ensuring it is free from uncomfortable tangles and thoroughly examining for any skin issues. For breeds with double coats, we expertly remove any loose hairs to prevent matting. We also attend to intimate areas and pads, should it be necessary for your dog’s breed.
During the grooming process, we understand that breaks and rest may be needed. We offer your dog a chance to relieve themselves and have a drink, allowing for necessary rejuvenation. Once they are ready, we proceed with the styling phase. Our salon offers a variety of classic pet grooming styles, and if your dog is receptive, we are delighted to provide more personalised designer styles.
At our salon, we strive to deliver an exceptional grooming experience that leaves your dog looking fabulous and feeling their best.
Yes, this is a specialist service and by quotation only. please contact us for a quote.
The time taken on a grooming appointment can vary if your dog is not on a regular schedule. We can only estimate time needed and price for dogs in a routine with us, factors that can effect the time needed are if your dog is elderly, nervous or even overweight , the coat type condition the style requested and your dogs behaviour and mood on the day can effect the time needed to complete a full groom.
Having said that I do tend to book 2 -2.5 hours for most of my typical dog grooms as for most dogs this is quite a long time to be with us and having grooming and would always make decisions that are best for your dogs welfare. We do not like to rush our grooming work for many reasons and want your dog to feel calm and not under pressure or rushed while they are with us, we also want to have time for those little extras like teeth cleaning maybe we need to remove a tick or grass seed, etc that make our grooms really a full welfare check over for your dog!
Working from home and having two groomers usually means we can spend extra time and take extra care in our work than a busier salon environment. In order to be able to run our diary smoothly we highly recommend keeping your dog on routine appointments.
We offer a full consultation and chance to meet us with your dog prior to making an appointment.
We offer pet grooming styles and cover breed specific cuts for pet dogs. We specialise in poodle styles for pet dogs having done a little showing in the past and owning five between us we really feel it’s our strength in the grooming world. If you are looking for show standard grooming usually this is carried out by breeders, showing dog owners but would be happy to work with you depending on the breed and what would be required.
We can accommodate dogs with special needs or with medical conditions but we may require vets permission and would be depending on the individual dog and if we felt happy the dog is best to be groomed by us or be refered to a vet for shaving. A consultation would be required to discuss the dogs needs and health condition.
We do offer hand stripping for specific breeds. This is a specialist service and would be priced by the hour.
Having a background in both hair and beauty between us you can safely say we love learning about all the grooming products!
Any nervous or anxious dog will be taken very slowly through our grooming introduction program. Each and every dog that visits us is unique in what may be triggers for stress and how they may display this.
We understand our dog customers and will also advise on how you can work with your dog at home to introduce grooming at a pace that suits your dog. We may advice support from behaviour experts if we feel this would be needed, and are constantly working to improve and keep up to date with how we can improve the grooming experience for all dogs.
Many dogs find some part of grooming stressful from being left with a person they don’t know that well to loud noises. Each dog will come for a meet and greet so we can all get to know each other and make a plan to suit you and your dog. We work closely with highly acclaimed trainers with our own dogs to improve our own canine communication and understanding.
For some of our dogs leaving them with us is a slow gradual process and is something we would discuss at our first meet and greet. If separation anxiety is an issue for your dog then please let us know so we can work with you on this or maybe decide for you to stay to keep your dog calmer.
We may also advise your dog is calmer when you are not around but each dog is individually assessed with you. There may also be health issues which mean it is best for the owner to stay during the groom. As we are a small salon we may have to add a charge if we can only take one dog during this session.
Our grooming room is home based secure private and relaxed. We work together and as sisters naturally merge as a team for larger or unstable dogs so any lifting is done easily.
We have a low side entry hydrobath making easy access. A electric grooming table means no dogs have to jump or be lifted onto our tables. We have some quiet dryers for noise sensitive dogs. Even the clippers we use are selected for how gentle for the dogs and quiet when working. Due to our meet and greet and slow intro program the dogs we groom get to know us and visa Vera’s before much of the grooming gets going.
We can arrange to book extra time for those dogs who need to take it slow and not feel rushed or pushed around during the groom. We have air con for hot days heating for cold ones. Also having a reki practitioner around to add some positive vibes to your dogs experience. We like to give dogs breaks to calm between sections of the groom, get a drink or take a pee break. We may spend time during the groom helping your dog to find the experience a positive one with treat rewards or play etc.
We can accommodate many grooming styles as long as the coat type and condition allow and are best for your dog. For longer styling the dog must be kept totally knot free.
We do not provide flea treatment as a rule and any dog arriving with fleas would be charged for any loss of earning ti close for that day to de flea the salon plus the charge of your groom. Upon request and prebooking we can provide this but find the charges to this would be min £100 plus the grooming charges.
Regular nail trimming is critical for good posture and the health of your dogs joints. Without regular trimming minimum every three weeks for most dogs the quick does not recede and nails become too long. We offer free nails trims with each groom and and extra nail trim for free if your dog visits us monthly for grooming.
We offer ear cleaning treatments however excess ear wax should be seen by a vet prior to grooming please make sure this is done before your visit if needed.
We offer ultrasonic teeth cleaning both at our groom room also for home hire. We recommend starting this with all dogs from a young age or to start directly after vet cleaning to prevent further plaque build up.
Our hygiene procedures are in place to protect your dog and ourselves. All our tools surfaces holding crates and bath are all sanitised between each dog. Our background in hair beauty and nursing combined give us the edge on knowing how to reduce and contamination and we also check and refuse to groom any dog with a visible condition until we have vets advice.
We can accommodate dogs of all breeds and sizes but do ask for more advance booking for larger breeds and may need extra charges if two groomers are required. We find it much safer to work two groomers with a larger breed.
We much prefer any older dog we groom to have been coming to us regularly through its life, it can be traumatic for any dog to change to a new groomer and would first advice to stay with tye groomer your dog knows and trusts in their later years. If an older dog is new to us we would want to have extra time to take before grooming starts with meet and greets and that your dog is regularly health checked for any heart conditions etc.
We love our customers to block book for the year of possible this really helps us to plan our day and actually can help to keep grooming costs down.
